2014 Winter Carnival

The first annual Winter Carnival was held on Feb 16 at Roblin Lake Park. The weather was cold but clear, and Mother Nature provided lots of snow. Carnival-goers enjoyed snow baseball, snow soccer, sledding and skating, as well as pony-and-wagon rides. Young and old enjoyed hot dogs, hot chocolate and marshmallows roasted over a fire.

Thanks go to Greg O’Hara and Leo Alarie for their valiant efforts to create a skating rink, Rob Burns for snowblowing paths in the Park, Kellogg’s and the Bayfield Home for their generous donations of edibles, Scott Carter for providing pony-and-wagon rides, and the many volunteers who put it all together. Organizers deemed the Winter Carnival a great success. The Ameliasburgh Town Hall Working Group is especially thanked for spearheading this great Family Weekend event.

One Response so far.
