Crazy for Quilts
The Ameliasburgh Historical Museum and Pioneer Village held it’s first “Crazy for Quilts” display on Sat, Aug. 16. The Museum’s quilt collection includes 35 antique quilts, many of which were on display in the Museum and on the grounds. Several local collectors also brought quilts to compliment the Museum’s collection.
Rosalie Tennison, a quilt evaluator from Toronto, was on hand at the Ameliasburgh Town Hall to answer questions about and evaluate quilts brought in by curious quilt owners.
Janice Hubbs, curator of the Museum, was enthusiastic about the public’s response. “We’ve seen a lot more visitors today, despite the afternoon showers,” she laughed. “We’re hoping that this may become a biennial event.”
