Winter Carnival 2015
Ameliasburgh’s second winter carnival was a great success on Sunday Feb. 15, despite the cold weather. Most of the activities were moved inside the Town Hall, but the horse-and-wagon rides were a crowd favourite, ad the ice surface on Roblin Lake was also popular.
In the Town Hall, the Prince Edward Public Library offered children’s games and activities, as well as a photographer well-stocked with an assortment of hats and props as she snapped photos, to the delight of participants.
Other volunteers set up an assortment of children’s activities, including the popular donut game – mini-donuts were suspended from strings, and participants had to keep their hands behind their back as they attempted to grab a donut in their mouth.
The Winter Carnival, arranged by the Ameliasburgh Working Group, was sponsored by the Ameliasburgh Ward 4 Recreation Committee. Special thanks go to the volunteers who kept hot chocolate, coffee, hot dogs and treats coming, and to Scott and Amanda Carter, who braved the cold to provide horse-and-wagon rides. Congratulations to Nancy Wood and her organizing committee for a great event.
